What to Expect:

This challenging route climbs up from West Burke toward incredible views of Willoughby Gap. There is a short section on the Class IV Camp Road, which turns into Sugarhouse Road with a beautiful downhill run. There is a short section on VT-5A and a shorter section on VT-5 where cyclists should take care. The descent back into West Burke on Burke Hill Road is paved and curved. Only experienced cyclists should use this route.

Burke Town Office Parking: From US-5A in West Burke, turn east onto School Street. Parking is in the large lot behind the Burke Town Office.


 

Home to the headquarters for Kingdom Trails and Burke Mountain Resort, Burke is already a recreation paradise. Get off the beaten track and there is so much more to explore! West Burke is the southern gateway to the stunning cliffs of Lake Willoughby. Stop in one of the general stores in West Burke to stock up on your way to the lake or visit the restaurants of East Burke after a day of recreating. Stay the night at one of the many country inns or bed and breakfasts sprinkled throughout the town.
